What do you store about my work?
For each finished item: the source, a hashed id, the type and when it was finished. Never titles, descriptions,
repositories, people or any other content. Items are kept for 35 days, then folded into one count per source per day. Those daily counts are kept until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes everything at once. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Can I cheat?
You could send items you didn't finish, but there's little point. Your benchmark is your own recent pace, so inflating it
only raises the bar you have to meet tomorrow. However much you send, one day earns at most 36 hours, and your time bank never
holds more than 96 hours. The
game is meant to reward your real work, at your real pace.
What about the leaderboards?
There are two: Skill total (total level across every skill) and Gold total (every coin earned, so spending
never moves you down), each all time, over the last 30 days and per 8-week season. Play time from finished work is
self-reported, and the boards record it that way. Saves that gain XP or coins faster than the game allows are kept off
the boards, and nobody appears unless they choose to.
What happens when I run out of play time?
Your adventurer walks home and goes to bed. Nothing is lost: skills, items, coins and goals stay as they were, and the
world waits. Finish something and the new play time wakes them. See How play time
works.
I'm on holiday. Will my adventurer starve?
No. There's nothing to starve: a sleeping adventurer simply waits. Rest days also give a full day each (two a week by
default), so weekends are covered.
I had a slow week. Does that lower my target?
A little, slowly. After your first four weeks, your benchmark is the median of your last 4 weeks of working days, and it
moves at most 15% a day, so one slow or one huge week doesn't swing it. In the first four weeks of a new source it is the
average of your working days so far.
Which tools work?
Your GitHub contributions, built in (Connect GitHub); anything Claude can see
through its connectors (GitHub, Jira, Linear, Asana and more), anything that can call a
webhook.
Does the game run when my computer is off?
Not in the background, but nothing is skipped either: when you come back, the time away is replayed through the real
game, up to 7 days exactly.
