Your finished work is your adventurer's play time
Ironvale Idle is a small low-poly RPG that plays itself. Connect the tools you already work in, and every merged pull request or closed ticket keeps your character mining, smithing and exploring. On a slow day they rest. Nothing is ever lost.
Free, in your browser. No account needed: play as a guest and sign in later if you want.
Your adventurer is right where you left them in this browser.
How it works
Ironvale runs on the work you finish, not the hours you sit at a desk. Three steps, set up once.
Connect your work
Sign in with GitHub and count your contributions, add the Ironvale connector in Claude, paste a webhook URL into any tool that can call one, or send items from a script with the bulk API.
Finish things
A merged pull request, a closed ticket, a completed task. Only the fact that it's done is sent, never its title or content.
Your adventurer plays
Finished work becomes play time. When it runs out they walk home and go to bed, and wake as soon as you finish more.
Asleep, never lost
Out of play time, your character heads home and sleeps. Skills, items, coins and goals stay exactly as they were, and the world waits. Finish something in your work tool and they're up again.
Playing as a guest, or signed in without a connected source? Then there's no limit at all: the game simply plays.
How work turns into play time
The yardstick is you. Ironvale compares each day with your own recent pace, so a designer closing three big tickets and an engineer merging twelve small changes both earn a full day.
- 72 hA welcome when you first sign in: your character starts playing at once, before you've sent anything.
- 24 hA day at your usual pace earns a full day of play.
- LessA lighter day earns proportionally less: half your usual pace earns 12 hours.
- Up to 36 hThe most one day can earn: a big day earns up to 150%.
- 96 hThe most your bank can hold at once. Time earned beyond that isn't added.
- Day oneA new work source's first day counts in full with a single finished item; after that your pace is the average of your days so far.
- Rest daysUp to two a week (Saturday and Sunday unless you pick others). They still give a full day.
- Your paceAfter four weeks, the median of your last 4 weeks of working days, moving at most 15% a day. GitHub starts from your average over the weeks before you connect. Weights per source let a merged pull request count more than a commit.
Separately, your bank holds up to 96 h at once.
A usual day earns a full day of play.
An idle RPG worth checking on
Twelve skills, four hand-built towns linked by roads and a ferry, and an autopilot that never gets stuck. Your character gathers, smiths, cooks and fights, hands goods to the towns that ask for them, and saves for projects that change the streets you walk.
Set priorities if you like: favour a skill, aim for a level, stockpile bars. Then close the tab. Time away is replayed exactly when you come back.
We count your work. We never read it.
For each finished item Ironvale keeps four things: which tool it came from, a scrambled id, its type and when it was finished. Never titles, descriptions, repositories, people or any other content; if a tool sends them anyway, they're dropped unread.
Items are kept for 35 days, then reduced to one count per tool per day. Deleting your account deletes all of it at once.
| Field | What we keep |
|---|---|
| source | github |
| id | 7f3c9a0e…b21d (hashed on arrival) |
| type | pr_merged |
| finished | 2026-10-29 16:05 |
| title | Fix the login timeout |
| repository | acme/billing-service |
Struck through: sent by the tool, never stored.
Leaderboards, if you want them
All-time, last 30 days, and 8-week seasons where everyone starts from zero. Rank by total level, total XP or any one skill.
You're off the boards unless you choose to appear, under a public name you pick. Play time from work is self-reported, and the boards record it that way.
The top five appear here.
Free during the beta
Ironvale Idle is free to play while it's in beta. Pricing may come later.
