Ironvale Idle: terms of service
The rules for playing during the public beta, in plain English.
1. Agreeing to these terms#
Ironvale Idle (the "game", at ironvaleidle.com, including its server, APIs, webhooks and Claude connector) is run by ELECTROBEAN LLC ("we", "us"). By playing it or creating an account you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data. If you don't agree, please don't use the game.
2. Who can play#
- You must be at least 18 to play. Do not use the game, as a guest or with an account, if you are under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 is using it, we may close their account and delete their data.
- You may not use the game if the law where you live forbids it, or if we have previously closed your account for breaking these terms.
3. Accounts and devices#
- You can play as a guest without an account; your progress then stays in your browser only.
- Signing in (with Google or an email link) gives you an account that saves your progress on our server. One account per person. Keep access to your Google account or email secure: whoever controls it controls your Ironvale account.
- One device at a time. Your character plays on one device at a time. Opening the game on another device takes over there, and the first device pauses. This keeps a single, consistent save.
- Personal tokens, webhook addresses and connector authorisations act on your behalf. Keep them private and revoke any you no longer use; you are responsible for what is sent with them.
4. Free beta, and paid features later#
The game is free during the beta. We may introduce paid features or subscriptions later. If we do:
- we will announce it in the game and on this site at least 30 days before any paid feature starts;
- prices and what you get for them will be shown clearly before you buy;
- we will never charge you without your explicit agreement to a specific purchase or subscription, and we will publish separate terms for paid features at that time.
Something free during the beta may later become part of a paid plan, and we will tell you in advance.
5. Progress and virtual items#
- Levels, XP, coins, items, play time and ranks in the game are part of the game, not property. They have no monetary value, can't be exchanged for money, and may not be sold, traded or transferred outside the game.
- During the beta we may rebalance, change or reset progress, items, play-time credit, leaderboards and seasons, for example to fix a bug or keep the game fair. We'll try to warn you before a reset and keep it to what's necessary.
6. Fair play and acceptable use#
What you do with a guest save in your own browser is largely your business. Once you are signed in, or using anything that reaches our server, you agree not to:
- edit saves, modify the game, or use bots or scripts to get leaderboard ranks or play-time credit you did not earn, or to get around the server's checks;
- send fake or inflated finished items (see section 8);
- overload, probe or attack the server, APIs, webhooks or Claude connector; get around rate limits or daily limits (for example, using several accounts or tokens to exceed them); or access another player's account, save or tokens;
- send malware, spam, or content that is unlawful, or that you have no right to send, through any of them;
- impersonate someone else, including us or our staff;
- scrape the game or leaderboards in bulk, or resell access to the game.
Current limits (we may change them): webhooks accept up to 200 requests and 500 finished items per account per day; the finished-items API accepts up to 500 new items a day (shared with webhooks and Claude) and 200 per request; requests are also limited per minute. Requests over a limit are not counted (webhooks acknowledge them but ignore them), and repeated misuse may be refused.
If we believe you have broken these rules, we may refuse saves or items, hide you from leaderboards, reset affected progress or credit, revoke tokens, or suspend or close your account (see section 12). Automatic checks may hide a save from the leaderboards; if you think that's a mistake, write to us and a person will look at it.
7. Public names#
If you choose to appear on the leaderboards, you pick a public name. It must not impersonate another person, brand, the game or its staff, and must not be offensive, hateful, sexual or misleading. We may refuse, hide or rename any name we consider inappropriate, without notice, and remove you from the boards if it happens again.
8. Finished items you send#
- Play-time credit is based on finished items that you or your tools report. They are self-reported: we don't verify them, and they are your responsibility.
- Send only items for work you actually finished yourself. Don't send other people's work, and don't send items you don't have the right to share.
- We only need a source, an id, a type and a time. Don't put personal, confidential or third-party information in the source or type labels; anything else is discarded.
- Make sure that connecting your work tools to the game is allowed by your employer or client, and by the tools' own terms. That is your decision and your responsibility.
- How items turn into play time (weights, benchmarks, rest days, limits) may change during the beta.
9. Connecting other tools#
You can connect services we don't run, such as Claude (Anthropic), GitHub, Zapier or your own scripts, and you sign in with Google. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not ours. We are not responsible for them, for their availability, or for what they send us or do with your data. You can disconnect them in the game at any time.
If you choose to count your GitHub contributions, you allow us to read your GitHub contribution calendar (daily counts only) with the access you approve on GitHub when you connect it, until you remove it. Connect only your own GitHub accounts. The counts are what GitHub reports; if GitHub changes or stops providing them, the feature may change or stop.
10. Beta: availability and saves#
The game is in public beta. That means:
- features may change, break, be removed, or be added;
- the game or parts of it may be unavailable at times, with or without notice;
- saves and progress may be lost, through bugs, resets or outages. Please use Saves > Export now and then to keep your own copy;
- we may end the beta or the game. If we shut it down, we will give at least 30 days' notice where we reasonably can, so you can export your save.
11. Ownership and feedback#
- We (and our licensors) own the game: its code, art, world, text, name and logo. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to play it for your own non-commercial use, under these terms. You may not copy, sell or redistribute the game or its assets, or remove our notices.
- You are welcome to share screenshots and videos of your own play, including on monetised channels, as long as you don't suggest we endorse you.
- Your saves are yours to export and keep. You give us the permission we need to store and process them (and your finished items) to run the game for you.
- If you send us ideas, bug reports or other feedback, we may use them freely, without paying you or crediting you. You keep any rights you have in them.
12. Ending your use#
- You can stop playing at any time, and delete your account in the game's account panel. That deletes your server-side data as described in the privacy policy.
- We may suspend or close your account, or restrict features, if you break these terms, if we have to by law, or to protect other players or the game. Where reasonable we will tell you why and give you the chance to export your save first.
- Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 5, 11, 13, 14 and 15) continue after your use ends.
13. Disclaimers#
The game is provided free, "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or fit for any particular purpose, or that saves, progress or credit will be kept. The game is entertainment, not a productivity, time-tracking or employment tool: play-time credit is a game mechanic and is not a measure of anyone's work.
14. Limitation of liability#
The game is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ELECTROBEAN LLC accepts no liability for the game or for anything arising from your use of it or from these terms, including any loss of data, saves, progress, profits or goodwill.
Some places do not allow certain exclusions or limits of liability, so the ones above apply only to the extent permitted where you live. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, you keep all the rights your local consumer law gives you, and nothing here takes them away.
15. Governing law and disputes#
[GOVERNING LAW] If you are a consumer, you can also rely on the mandatory laws of, and bring claims in the courts of, the country where you live. Before going to court, please email us: most problems can be sorted out quickly.
16. Changes to these terms#
We may update these terms as the game develops. The version and date at the top show the latest change. For a significant change we will tell signed-in players in the game at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless it is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you keep playing after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, stop playing and delete your account.
17. General#
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the game.
- If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them to a successor running the game, and we will tell you if that happens.
